Since becoming a first grade teacher, I have noticed even more the importance of children being read to and learning to read themselves. This year I decided to reach out on Facebook to see if there were any people willing to sponsor a student in my class to help get them a free book every month from the Scholastic book order. All it took was $8 per student to get each of my 15 students a free book every month. In a very short amount of time my class was completely sponsored and I had many more people willing to sponsor! Argonia Junior Noah Phillips was selected to the 2019 SCBL All-League 1 st T eam Defensive Line. Noah started the entire season for the A&A Titans, and played multiple positions on offense and defense but made his name playing defensive end. Despite missing two games with an injured leg, Noah was the third leading tackler on the defense with 70 total tackles. He also had 3 sacks and 4 pass deflections. Noah was a fixture in the weightroom all spring and summer long and he carries a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. We are proud of his efforts this year and look forward to what he can accomplish . . .

Argonia Juniors Alexis Vineyard, Aubriegh Haxton, and Karrlea Hessman were all selected on the 2019 SCBL All Leage Team. Alexis, who was our setter this year was named All League, honorable mention. Although setters don’t get a lot of recognition she would tell you that whenever her hitters got a kill it would make her work even harder for the next point. She played a big part to the success of our offense. Aubreigh Haxton who was our right side hitter and blocker was named All League, First team. Argonia students and staff honored local area Veterans at a program on Veterans Day Monday, November 11th. Students performed several songs and five Veterans were recipients of the Quilts of Valor: Dennis Shinliver, William McMullin, Bill Mock, Jay Head, and Jacob Head.
The 2020 Salter Museum Community Calendars are for sale in the Argonia Elementary and High School offices for $10.00. Checks can be made out to the Salter Museum. All proceeds go to support the museum. The calendars are in limited quantity and will only be available until supplies last.
