Damien Smith Wins "Raider of the Month" for October 2021
Launch the media gallery 1 playerDamien Smith, a junior at AHS, became the next “Raider of the Month” for October, 2021. The Activities/Athletics Department of Argonia Junior/Senior High School has decided to recognize one student a month who has demonstrated exceptional pride and integrity while competing in athletics or activities. Students are nominated by coaches, sponsors and staff; once a month, a student is chosen as “Raider of the Month.”
Damien was chosen for the month of October after being nominated by Danna Rasmussen. She had this to say about Damien:
I would like to nominate Damien Smith for “Raider of the Month.” Damien, as a summer employee for AHS, came to work with a positive attitude and took great care of school property this summer. He worked well with the new custodians and, after going to classes, would spend endless hours operating flooring and other machines in an effort to get the school ready for the start of the school year. Damien worked hard in very hot weather. It was evidence that Damien viewed his time as not just summer work, but as a member of a crew with a deadline. Such work ethic should benefit him in band and basketball this year.
Damien is currently participating in Band.
The “Raider of the Month” is part of a renewed effort to build school pride. The student selected has their picture on a bulletin board along with comments from the coach, sponsor or staff who nominated him or her. Look for a new student in November!!
